Tongue and taste bud facts 

• The longest tongue of a human is 9.8cm...
• And the widest is 7.8cm!
• The largest tongue known is one of the blue whale, it is roughly 2,450 kg and is about 6 square metres.
• The average person's tongue has 10,000 taste buds.
• 10% of these taste buds are on the side and roof of the mouth.
• A butterfly has taste buds on its feet.
